THE ASK —

After a whirlwind pandemic launch, the Houseplant team and co-founders Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg needed a partner to help them fully articulate the vision for their brand and craft a new digital foundation for their future growth and ambitions. As fans of both comedy and cannabis, we couldn't pass this one up.

WHAT WE DID & HIGHLIGHTS —

We started off with a deep dive into Seth and Evan's founding story. We discussed how they came up with the Houseplant idea, where they saw the open space in the market, and how they envisioned tying well-designed housewares and lifestyle products together under a common mission to promote the responsible enjoyment of cannabis while helping underrepresented communities and those harmed by harmful drug laws thrive in the new era of legalization.

In the service of highlighting the thoughtfulness and consideration of Houseplants product assortment, we leaned into design references from luxury fashion, high end streetwear and upscale furnishings to acheive a design approach that was equal parts clean, elevated and bold — the goal being to match the price point and quality of the products with the digital environment they're showcased within.

Embedded within the overall UX are advanced featured designed to empower the Houseplant team with creative ways to storytell, merchandise, and segment customers while driving higher AOV and conversion through hype-driven product drops and curated collection launches

To tie the digital experience closer to the unboxing experience, we employed pops of color, motion cues and moments of levity through clever copywriting and content to add lighthearted fun to the look & feel while relating back to the vibrancy of the product packaging and the founders personalities.
