Getting old is fun. It means being more you and less everything else everyone thinks. It also means sometimes you need a little help from likeminded people looking to live their fullest lives without compromise.

THE ASK —

As they leaned more and more into their core demographic, Caddis popularity as an alternative to youth-obsessed culture in favor of authentic aging skyrocketed. A good problem to have, but one that overwhelmed their current user experience. With goals to make all Caddis eyewear customizable and ambitious growth targets, we were charged with creating a new Shopify Plus eCommerce experience to help the brand get to the next level.

WHAT WE DID & HIGHLIGHTS —

Starting with a well defined brand guide, we translated Caddis' core identity into a scalable UX and UI design system that brought the brand and it's ambassadors to life within the eCommerce experience.

The goal was to bring as much as the Caddis aesthetic as possible into the UX and UI itself, ensuring that brand and content touchpoints became a lot more consistent from one channel to the next and freeing up space for the team to focus more on creating great content and stories and building up brand equity in the market.

Next, we set about solving the information architecture using an iterative IA process that connected navigation to product pages and allowed our teams to rapidly evaluate and debate how certain navigation and product page models could affect customer journeys.

Finally, we put all of the pieces together in a product customization experience that guided customers through each step of choosing, configuring and buying the perfect pair of glasses with the exact options they would need. We landed on an accordion model supported by contextual options and super rich product details within the page that spelled out the quality, style, colors, fit, and functional elements available on each pair of Caddis.
