Many of us at Pattern were already big believers in the medicinal properties of psychedelics. Working with Beond further solidified our belief that this space is brimming with hope for those whom our current treatment system has failed.

As part of their launch, Beond engaged us to design the UI & UX for their new website. Storytelling for such a rigorous addiction treatment program that uses an often misunderstood psychedelic plant medicine was as unique as it was challenging.

WHAT WE DID & HIGHLIGHTS —

Beond takes an alternative approach to treating substance abuse by leveraging Ibogaine (a psychedelic derived from a West African shrub known as iboga) to help patients break free from addiction and trauma. Working with medical doctors, licensed psychotherapists, and other health professionals, patients complete 7- or 14-day programs at a Mexico-based treatment center.

Though Beond’s site is small, its message and impact are huge. In just a couple of pages, we were tasked with educating visitors on the legitimacy of Ibogaine as an addiction treatment, and then qualifying the select few candidates who would be eligible for such a rigorous and highly regulated recovery program. We focused on the overall aspect of solid digital design and then honed in more specifically on experience flow to qualify candidates. We brainstormed and addressed questions that would naturally come up: How can this recovery program help me? How can it help my family? What actually happens when I come to the treatment center? It was important to build out the design and content that would support a visitor in making this significant decision.

WHAT WE DID & HIGHLIGHTS —

Throughout the process, we leaned heavily into the humanity of this space. We used photos of real people who have recovered from addiction and trauma at Beond’s treatment center, along with their testimonials, and leveraged animation to lend the site a fluid, freeing feel.

As Beond grows, we’re proud that we designed the website to grow with them. They’ve already used our templates to expand the site as they add more information and open new treatment centers throughout North America and beyond.
