Delivering a Fresh App, and Gift Exchange Platform—Just in Time for the Holidays

It’s been quite a year. From the news to the weather, we’ve never needed the holidays more than we do this year. So when Elfster, a free gift exchange website and app, asked us to help with a new brand and new app in time for the 2020 giving season, we jumped at the chance to help.

As a digital design agency focused on eCommerce, we spend a lot of time building brands to sell products. While we’re constantly impressed and inspired by the way our clients give back—to the environment and to their local communities—a free service felt like something different.

Elfster’s Founder and CEO, Peter Imburg, has already built an incredible company. The Elfster app helped over 15 million users make wishes, discover holiday trends, and start gift exchanges last holiday season. But Imburg and his team believe there are always more people to reach, and a better experience to provide. They wanted to build something that felt inclusive and easy to use, especially in a year when celebrating with loved ones might require new holiday traditions.

So we set out to infuse the Elfster brand with the generosity and warm spirit we felt from their team. With an app and website already loved by millions, we wanted to maintain some of the features that were already working, while building an interface and giving experience that felt accessible to gift givers of all ages and technical comfort zones.

Now, as holidays light up our neighborhoods and we debate how soon is “too soon” to buy a tree or decorate the house this year, Elfster, “the worlds #1 Secret Santa generator” is ready to rock.
